Global Solar Review reports that DESOLUX, the Spanish brand of premium designer solar pergolas, has been officially nominated for the Global Solar Design Award 2025 in the category Best Architectural Solar Solution.

Why this nomination matters

This prestigious award recognizes projects that merge architectural excellence, high-quality materials, and solar energy performance. It confirms that solar energy can be not only functional but also aesthetic, shaping the future of sustainable architecture worldwide.

The project

The nominated DESOLUX pavilion is a modular 5×5 m pergola featuring a full-black solar glass roof, concealed cabling inside 150×150 mm aluminum columns, and a patented quick-assembly system. It integrates high-efficiency panels with smart inverter compatibility for luxury residential applications.

Creative direction

The nomination also reflects the creative vision behind DESOLUX. As the founder and creative director, Edgars Skulte helped shape the idea of uniting luxury design with solar innovation — an approach that positioned the brand for international recognition.

What’s next

The final ceremony will take place in Q4 2025. DESOLUX will present full technical documentation and architectural visualizations to the international jury. .
